The historic Wanganui Rowing Club building was restored to house the early stages of Waimarie's restoration and the Riverboat Museum.

The museum contains a full photographic record of the salvage of Waimarie and fascinating displays of river-related artefacts and photographs focusing on the riverboat era. Museum guide is on hand to assist with queries and further information.

A group of educators involving the Whanganui Riverboat Centre Museum have come up with an idea, action-packed with two days of indoor and outdoor activites. The main focus of this package is the environment and education.

This action-packed activities package includes visits to:

• Whanganui Regional Museum
• Whanganui River Education Centre
• Sarjeant Gallery
• Department of Conservation
• Bushy Park Education Centre
• Whanganui Riverboat Centre (including a cruise on PS Waimarie)

Each package gets students involved with hands-on activites, games and research.
